The true skull was passed to a physician and a professor before being gifted to Vienna's Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde (Society of the Friends of Music) in 1895. The skull was reunited with Haydn's body at a tomb in the Bergkirche in Eisenstadt in 1932. It shares the tomb with another substitute skull. [72] [73]
