Louisiana Highway 43 (LA 43) is a state highway located in southeastern Louisiana.It runs 44.38 miles (71.42 km) in a north–south direction from LA 42 west of Springfield to the Mississippi state line north of Easleyville, where it continues as Mississippi Highway 568 (MS 568).
At that time, the majority of the modern LA 38 extending from Chipola in St. Helena Parish to Clifton in Washington Parish was designated as State Route 71. [11] As its official description indicates, Route 71 also turned south at Clifton and overlapped what is now LA 25 into Franklinton. However, this overlap was eliminated sometime after 1937.
The highway turns west concurrent with LA 441 for 1.1 miles (1.8 km) then turns north again at Magnolia. 8.6 miles (13.8 km) later, after having crossed from Livingston Parish into St. Helena Parish, LA 1036 turns east at a T-intersection with LA 1041 and proceeds to its terminus at LA 441 in the village of Montpelier.
