The Lipscomb Bisons are the athletic teams that represent Lipscomb University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the NCAA Division I ranks, primarily competing in the ASUN Conference (formerly known as the Atlantic Sun Conference until after the 2015–16 school year) since the 2003–04 academic year.
Candice McQueen is an American academic administrator serving as the 18th president of Lipscomb University since 2021. She is the first female chief executive officer of a university associated with the Churches of Christ. McQueen was the CEO of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching from 2019 to 2021.
Officially the first meeting took place on December 11, 1953, with Belmont emerging victorious 72–53. Neither team was in the NCAA. [1]Perhaps one of the more memorable college basketball games between Belmont University and Lipscomb University was played on February 17, 1990 in front of an NAIA-record sellout crowd of 15,399 at Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University) in Nashville, Tennessee.
