[12]), and colloquially referred to as Tegus or Teguz [13] —is the capital and largest city of Honduras along with its sister city, Comayagüela.
Tegucigalpa: The exact meaning of Tegucigalpa has yet to be determined. The most widespread theory is that it comes from the Nahuatl Teguz-Galp, which means "silver hills", but it is difficult to sustain as the natives were ignorant of the existence of minerals in the area.
