Due to Baigujing's strong powers, only Sun Wukong could detect that she was a demon. He hit her with his staff, seemingly killing her. Tang Sanzang is angered at Sun Wukong and performs the Band-tightening spell, but Sha Wujing placates the situation. Sun Wukong tried to explain that the 'village girl' was a demon, but they didn't believe him.
Tang Sanzang takes pity on her and lets her accompany them to a nearby temple, but Sun Wukong sees through her guise. She eats six monks in the temple and captures Tang Sanzang when Sun Wukong and the others are distracted. Sun Wukong finds out her true identity later and brings Li Jing and Nezha to subdue her and take her back.
The third was the young woman's elderly father, searching for his wife and child. Upon the "death" of the father by Wukong's hands, Wukong finally killed the demon before she got away. Tang Sanzang, convinced that Wukong had actually killed three innocent people, sent him away, despite protests.
