There is much debate over whether the correct name of the community is "Robinsonville" or "Robisonville"; it was named after William Robinson however post office records use Robisonville, and government records are conflicting. The post office was established on June 27, 1878 and closed on July 23, 1884; Charles W. Daggett served as postmaster. [2]

The James Cant Ranch is a pioneer ranch complex in Grant County in eastern Oregon, United States. The ranch is located on both sides of the John Day River in the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. The ranch was originally homesteaded by Floyd Officer in 1890. Officer sold the property to James Cant in 1910.
