Moreton Island experiences a marine-moderated humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cfa with very warm, muggy summers and mild, pleasant winters. Precipitation is abundant year-round, averaging 1,467.3 millimetres (57.77 in) annually, and wind speeds are high, averaging 26.8 kilometres per hour (16.7 mph) at 3 pm, in part due to its exposed location.
