The Parks at Arlington was built in 1987 and had a grand opening in 1988, the mall was developed by Homart Development Company and Herring Marathon. The original anchor stores were Dillard's, Mervyns, and Sears. [2] In 1989, The Parks was expanded and Houston-based Foley's (now Macy's) was added as the fourth anchor store. [3]

Harrel & Hamilton of Dallas were architects and the construction contract was held by the Avery Mayes Construction Company also of Dallas. the Y shaped mall features a 168 foot steel pylon at its center. The Tandy Center Subway was a small rapid transit system that operated in Fort Worth, Texas, from February 15, 1963 [1] to August 30, 2002. [2] It ran a distance of 0.7 miles (1.1 km) and was, during the period of its operation, the only privately owned subway in the United States.
