HP Compaq Elite 8000 small form factor desktop. HP Inc. targets their line of business desktop computers for use in the corporate, government, and education markets. HP operate their business desktops on minimum 12-month product cycle. Their product line mainly competes with Dell OptiPlex, Acer Veriton, and Lenovo ThinkCentre.
The introduction of the HP 3000 in 1974 provided high-end competition to the 2100 series; the entire line was renamed as the HP 1000 in 1977 and positioned as real-time computers. A greatly redesigned version was introduced in 1979 as the 1000 L-Series , using CMOS large scale integration chips and introducing a desk-side tower case model.
HP 9000 is a line of workstation and server computer systems produced by the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Company. The native operating system for almost all HP 9000 systems is HP-UX, which is based on UNIX System V. The HP 9000 brand was introduced in 1984 to encompass several extant technical workstation models launched formerly in the early 1980s.
Following HP's acquisition of Compaq in 2002, this series of notebooks was discontinued, replaced with the HP Pavilion, HP Compaq, and Compaq Presario notebooks. The OmniBook name would later be repurposed for a line of consumer-oriented notebooks in 2024, replacing the old Pavilion and Spectre series of notebooks.
HP Z is a series of professional workstation computers developed by Hewlett-Packard. The first-generation desktop products were announced in March 2009, replacing the HP 9000 xw series. [ 1 ] The product line expanded to mobile with the announcement of ZBook in September 2013, replacing HP's EliteBook W-series mobile workstations. [ 2 ]
In August 1995, HP released the first computer in the Pavilion line known as the HP Pavilion 5030, an IBM PC–compatible desktop computer designed for multimedia use. While it was not the first multimedia PC the company made, it was the first computer made by HP that was designed specifically for the home market.
