Ross Park Mall is a shopping mall located in Ross Township, Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh. The mall features JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom and Dick's House of Sport. With 170 stores, Ross Park Mall is currently the sixth-largest shopping mall in Pennsylvania. An outdoor lifestyle component complements the enclosed center.
The mall features Boscov's, Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Rural King, and a U-Haul storage center. It is vastly considered by locals to be a dead mall, with many residents opting for the Ross Park Mall in Ross Township or The Mall at Robinson in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania.
The mall opened 1979 as Forest Village Park Mall, anchored by JCPenney and Kmart and developed by Melvin Simon & Associates. [2] The Kmart store closed in 2002. [3] In 2003, Petrie Ross Ventures purchased the mall from Simon Property Group for $20.3 million. [4]
