Pomeroy (/ ˈ p ʌ m r ɔɪ / PUM-roy [4]) is a village in and the county seat of Meigs County, Ohio, United States, [5] along the Ohio River about 21 miles (34 km) south of Athens. The population was 1,573 at the 2020 census .
