Whitby Town F.C. was founded as Streaneshalch Football Club in October 1880, [1] soon after its foundation the club changed its name to Whitby Church Temperance. The name was changed in late 1882 to Whitby Football Club and continued to play friendly games as well as competing in the Scarborough & East Riding County Cup.

Lewis Henry Hawkins (born 15 June 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Whitby Town. Hawkins has previously played for Hartlepool United , York City , Spennymoor Town , Blyth Spartans and Guisborough Town .
Following the end of Whitby's season, Braithwaite returned to Grimsby and made his full league debut on 25 April 2023, coming on as a late substitute in a 2–0 win over Crewe Alexandra.
