Samsons is an Indonesian pop-rock band formed in Jakarta in 2003, with five released albums consisting of more than 50 songs as of 2025. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The band currently has four members: singer Adrian Martadinata, guitarists Irfan Aulia and Erik Partogi Siagian, and bassist Aldri Dataviadi. [ 4 ]
The following year Aylmer suggested a name change to Samson, and recommended a young drummer, Clive Burr, whom he had previously played with in the band Maya. Burr joined, and Samson was born, although for a time Paul Samson used bassist Bill Pickard and drummer Paul Gunn on odd gigs, when Aylmer and Burr were honouring previous commitments.
After two years performing under the moniker Paul Samson's Rogues, the eponymous frontman formed a new lineup of Samson in 1992, with drummer Tony Tuohy and returning bassist Chris Aylmer. [13] The group continued to tour and released Samson in 1993. [14] Tuohy left in early 1994 and the band broke up again. [13]
He played inside a cage, including during a brief Samson reunion in 2000. With Samson he enjoyed a certain degree of success, especially when their album Head On was released in 1980 and reached No. 34 in the UK Albums Chart.
