Hello, I am wondering why the Payment History on EFTPS does not show the correct payments. In 2019, I paid four payments for ES tax, and in 2020, the refund applied to ES for 2021. EFTPS shows only one payment made in July 2020 and no applied refund for 2021.
The number I have does not match the record on EFTPS. I noticed that a few payments made under my wife's SSN (who is not the primary taxpayer) did not show up in the tax payment history on EFTPS. My question is did the IRS receive those payments and can I still use the number I have even if it does not match EFTPS record? Thank you.
