I prefer Darthmod so much simply because of the huge battles though. Reply. Spanish_Doctor. •. I did. I was playing a Peninsular Campaing with Spain and lancers just walked fast against the enemy. I would only get good charges if the cavalry charged from a static position, in unsullied formation, and very flat terrain.
DM Napoleon seems to me to be more of an all in one type of mod, with placebo AI. The AI honestly isn't good, check to see if it ever recruits light infantry (it doesn't). I'd recommend Europe in Conflict honestly, best campaign mechanics with decent battle mechanics as well, and besides that it uses Josst's UAI mod, which is honestly the best ...
Napoleon TW: NTW3 or Darthmod. I know Napoleon isn't THE hip game, but gosh who doesn't love them some muskets. Bought the game a week ago and have been playing with the darthmod. I enjoy the rank firing and some of the other effects, but I read alot of folks saying that the NTW3 mod is the way to go.
Napoleon. I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a newcomer to Total War, though I haven’t had Napoleon for quite as long so I’m not as familiar. I’ve been playing DM recently, and I just absolutely suck with the coalition, specifically my UK campaign. Every place I tried to attack or successfully hold was met with at least 1.5 full ...

Napoleon is my favorite Total War (and I think the era is apex of set-piece battle warfare!) but I could never go back to playing with 20 unit stacks when 40 (with about 360 per regiment) has me spoiled. I’ll have battles with over 20,000 troops on the field, rivaling the size of some real Napoleonic engagements! 5. Reply.

Overhaul mods aside, what you need is a good smoke mod, musket sound mod (vanilla sound is abysmal), make the small change to user script to get double the men per regiment and enable regimental fire. Napoleon total flags and bigger regimental flags is also a must imo. If you want more units go with aum-nap, adds tons of new units to all major ...
