The Clerkenwell explosion, also known as the Clerkenwell Outrage, was a bombing attack carried out by the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) in London on 13 December 1867. Members of the IRB, who were nicknamed " Fenians ", exploded a bomb to try to free a member of their group who was being held on remand at Clerkenwell Prison .
Initially, a total of 2,603 victims were confirmed to have been killed at the World Trade Center site. [16] In 2007, the New York City medical examiner's office began to add people who died of illnesses caused by exposure to dust from the site to the official death toll. The first such victim was a woman who died in February 2002. [17]
