The Carmilla Movie is a 2017 Canadian comedy horror film directed by Spencer Maybee, based on the web series of the same name (2014–2016). Both the film and the web series were adapted from the 1872 gothic novella Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. The film received a limited theatrical release in Canada on October 26, 2017.
In 2014, Negovanlis was cast as the title role in the Canadian Screen Award winning web series Carmilla. In the series, which is based on the 1871-1872 gothic novella of the same name , Negovanlis portrays the vampire Carmilla Karnstein, who appears after her roommate's previous roommate vanishes.
