Maynooth Post Primary opened in 1971 as a Vocational School in the grounds of the Presentation Convent and moved to its present location in 1972 under the auspices of Kildare Vocational Educational Committee (now Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board). Maynooth Students' Union represents students of St Patrick's College, Maynooth and NUI Maynooth. The Maynooth Union was founded in 1895 during the centenary and the constitution agreed in 1896, to "foster a spirit of mutual sympathy between the College and its past students and friends", it hosts an annual reunion.

Kairos was set up in 1983 by the Irish branch of the Society of the Divine Word, in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. [1] Fr Michael Melvin SVD, was the founder of Kairos. Kairos (Greek καιρός, "the right time") was the name of a magazine produced by the Divine Word Missionaries for schools, in the 1970s and the Communications company grew out of that. [2]
