High Cliff State Park is a 1,187-acre (480 ha) Wisconsin state park near Sherwood, Wisconsin.It is the only state-owned recreation area located on Lake Winnebago. [2] The park got its name from cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment, a land formation east of the shore of Lake Winnebago that stretches north through northeast Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, and Ontario to Niagara Falls and New York State.

Lake Sherwood, originally Potrero Lake, is the oldest man-made lake in California.It was built in 1904 and is approximately 165 acres (0.67 km 2).It was changed to Lake Sherwood when the surrounding areas, used for the filming of "Robin Hood" starring Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., in 1921, became known as "Sherwood Forest" and "Maid Marian Park."
The former historical unincorporated community of High Cliff is located within present-day Sherwood. [4] [5] The village began as a named unincorporated community within the Town of Harrison, and is named for a Civil War veteran stagecoach driver, who later operated a tavern in the area. Sherwood was incorporated as a village on June 28, 1968. [6]
