Zainul Abedin (29 December 1914 – 28 May 1976), also known as Shilpacharya (Master of Art) was a Bangladeshi painter. He became well known in 1944 through his series of paintings depicting some of the great famines in Bengal during its British colonial period .

Abedin was a lawyer and politician. he was elected to parliament from Mymensingh-4 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1979. [1] He was elected to parliament from Mymensingh-8 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 15 February 1996 Bangladeshi general election. [2] He was the president of Ishwarganj Upazila BNP. [3]
