Goreme was an important centre of early Christianity. [5] Very little is known about Göreme's history until modern times in part because it was a small settlement away from the more travelled main roads linking Kayseri to Konya and the Mediterranean coast to Aksaray. The village contains several pillared tombs believed to date back to Roman times.

MV Nimpkish is an N-class ferry formerly owned by BC Ferries. It is 33.93 metres (111.3 ft) long, holds 12 vehicles and 95 passengers, and its maximum speed is 11 knots (20 km/h; 13 mph). [ 1 ] Nimpkish entered service with the Ministry of Transportation's Salt Water division in 1973, and was built in Vancouver to serve the inter-island routes.
The Likoni Ferry is a ferry service across Kilindini Harbour, serving the Kenyan city of Mombasa between Mombasa Island and the mainland suburb of Likoni. Double-ended ferries alternate across the harbour, carrying both road and foot traffic. The ferries are operated by the Kenya Ferry Services (KFS), and is the only remaining ferry service by KFS.
