Robert Walter Miers was born on January 27, 1848, near Greensburg, Indiana. Miers attended the common schools. He was graduated from the academic department of Indiana University at Bloomington in 1870 and from its law department in 1871. He was admitted to the bar in April 1872 and commenced practice in Bloomington, Indiana. [1]

Peru is a city in, and the county seat of, Miami County, Indiana, United States. [2] It is 73 miles (117 km) north of Indianapolis. The population was 11,073 at the 2020 census, [3] making it the most populous community in Miami County.
