The Purple Rose Theatre Company is a 501(c) non-profit regional theater located in Chelsea, Michigan.It was founded in 1991 [1] by actor and playwright Jeff Daniels. [2] Its name comes from the 1985 film The Purple Rose of Cairo, [3] which starred Daniels and for which he earned his first Golden Globe nomination.
