He briefly served as acting president of Madagascar in 2023 during the reelection of Andry Rajoelina. Some media outlets have said that he is a collaborator of Rajoelina.
Ravalomanana and Rajoelina met on 21 February; this meeting, which lasted about 45 minutes, was organized by the Council of Christian Churches in Madagascar.
