The geography of Indiana comprises the physical features of the land and relative location of U.S. State of Indiana. Indiana is in the north-central United States and borders on Lake Michigan . At the end of Hermit Creek, and Canyon, the Hermit Rapids interrupt the flow of the Colorado River. Historic Hermit Camp was located at the end of the Hermit Trail, near the Colorado River.

US 6 replaced the original State Road 17 (SR 17) designation of the highway which dated back to the formation of the Indiana state road system. SR 17 ran from Ligonier through Kendallville to Waterloo and ended in Butler. US 6 also replaced the second designation of the highway, State Road 6 (SR 6), through most of the state.
