Flight Simulator 2004 (9.0): A Century of Flight, also known as FS9 or FS2004, was shipped with several historical aircraft such as the Wright Flyer, Ford Tri-Motor, and the Douglas DC-3 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight.
FSX includes fewer aircraft than FS2004, but incorporates new aircraft such as the Airbus A321, Maule Orion, Boeing 737-800 (replacing the aging Boeing 737-400), Beechcraft King Air and Bombardier CRJ700. The expansion pack, named Acceleration, was released later, which includes new missions, aircraft, and other updates.

I also think that periods of aircraft in the list are somewhat arbitrary. It seems to me that the three 20th century wars were the great aircraft drivers, so maybe the columns need be only: Pioneers WW1 generation WW2 1st Jet generation 2nd Jet generation 3rd Jet generation pre-1914 1914-1934 1935-1945 1945-1965 1966-1986 1987-2007
