The Patchogue-Medford Library is a public library located in Suffolk County, New York and serves the residents who live within the Patchogue-Medford School District. It is a school district library but also serves as the central library for all of Suffolk County. It is located at 54-60 East Main Street in Patchogue, New York.
The Emma S. Clark Memorial Library Association [1] is a New York State Free Association Library registered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York. It is the oldest public library, in terms of continuous service from its original location, serving Suffolk County, New York, since it was built in 1892 by Thomas Hodgkins, its original patron.
In 1896, the library moved to a more populated area near the intersection of Main Street and Shore Road. This was a small building which also served as the post office and telegraph office. It is now home to the Cold Spring Harbor Barbershop. Several years later, the library's collection of books were moved to what is now 117 Main Street.
