Lancaster High School is a secondary-level public high school located in Lancaster, Ohio, and is the only high school within the Lancaster City Schools district. The current building was opened during the fall of 1964. Currently, the building houses grades 9–12.
The district is a member of Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit (IU) 13. The district operates 20 schools in 2017: twelve elementary schools, one K-12 school, four middle schools, one high school campus and two alternative schools. It employs 1,620 staff members, including administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff.

John Piersol McCaskey High School opened on 3 May 1938, [4] accepting Lancaster city's first gender-integrated class of students. The high school was named for John McCaskey, a local educator, composer, and politician. [5] The construction is a product of the post-Depression Works Progress Administration.
