Sofia Shkidchenko is a Ukrainian singer, born in 2005. She begin performing at young age, becoming particularly known by her yodeling abilities. In 2018, she participated in Ukraine's Got Talent Kids where her was highly praised. [1] [2] She participated in Ukrainian Junior Eurovision Song Contest national selection in multiple occasions.
In 2010 Sofia took part in the television contests Krok Do Zirok (Step to the Stars), Nashchadky (Future Generations) Kumyry Ta Kumyrchyky (Big and Little Idols), Pisennyi Vernisazh (Song Vernissage). In 2014 Sofia finished first in the Kyiv Art Time Contest and also participated in the Ukrainian national selection for Junior Eurovision.

The Ukrainian broadcaster launched their selection process on 7 July 2017, accepting submissions until 7 August 2017. A semi-final took place on 8 August 2017, with all the submissions performing in front of a professional jury consisting of Sofia Rol, Svitlana Tarabarova, Valentyn Koval, Rozhden and Viktor Knysh, who decided the 10 acts that qualified for the final. "Shum" (Ukrainian: Шум, transl. "Noise") is a song by Ukrainian electro-folk band Go_A. It represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam. [3] [4] It is the second song sung entirely in Ukrainian to represent the country at Eurovision (the first being "Solovey" also by Go_A in 2020), but the first to compete in Eurovision due to the cancellation of the 2020 contest.
