Adopt a Doggie. Dogs come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and ready for a lifetime of love! Adoptions are same-day and done on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not hold pets or do adoptions via phone, social media, or email.
We offer a weekly program for teen volunteers ages 12–15 that allows them to earn 10 hours for school while learning about our shelter, working with our animals and assisting with our various Humane Education programs.
Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center (HCPRC) is the county-designated shelter where stray/lost animals are held so their owners can find them. However, they allow us to accept and hold strays if we have space available.
By bringing your pets to our hospital for care, you also support the plight of homeless pets as any proceeds from the Animal Hospital will benefit the mission and programs at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Choose one of our Animal Hospital services below.

If you are no longer able to care for your pet or if you have found a stray that you cannot keep, we accept “surrenders” between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, seven days a week, at our Intake Department located on the lower level of our shelter.
The HSTB Shelter provides adoptive animals and pets a home away from home. We provide a safe haven for animals and pets in need through these services: Pet Surrender – Offered to pet owners who can no longer care for their pets or a found stray.
