Example. Windows 10 test page from my machine prints out a blue logo and black text. Printed from her machine it comes out with a pink logo and black text. Printing a normal grayscale PDF from built in tools on my machine works fine. From hers it comes out in such a faint yellow as to be unreadable. Just updated both machines to 1709 a week ago.

We have powder printers where we fill the machine up with black toner and it is a pure K print not a rich black like you would get with CMYK printing. The other thing to consider, how is the black being made up on your documents. If we produce a CMYK 60/40/40/100 black it would use all 4 colours which is more expensive due to the ink usage.
Setting black and white as default printing preference for users. To my knowledge, the printers we have don’t have that as an option. I checked on the printer first, but nothing I changed did what I expected. Granted, the objective was to force people to print black and white, but I believe they wanted color (in the event it’s relevant).
