The Allamakee Community School District (also known as ACSD) is a public school district based in the city of Waukon in Allamakee County, Iowa, United States. A frame building in Waukon was used as a courthouse from 1854 to 1861. [3] A more permanent courthouse and jail were completed in Waukon for $13,635 in 1861. [4] In 1867, the Iowa Supreme Court finally settled the debate when it ruled that Waukon was the county seat. [5] The building constructed in 1861 served as the county courthouse until 1940.
