One of a few Colorado ski resorts on the east side of the continental divide, Eldora is eighteen miles (29 km) west of Boulder and about fifty miles (80 km) from downtown Denver. A bus (Route NB), operated by RTD, runs between Boulder and the ski area seven times daily during ski season and serves as easy transportation from town to mountain. [2]

Telluride Ski Resort is a ski resort located in Mountain Village, southwest Colorado, United States. The resort is located in the northwestern San Juan Mountains , part of the Rocky Mountains , and is home to the highest concentration of 13,000- and 14,000-foot peaks in North America. [ 2 ]
In 2018 Winter Park Resort was named "Best ski resort in North America" as voted by the readers of USA Today. [13] In 2019 Winter Park Resort was named "Number 1 Ski Resort in North America". [14] Winter Park hosted the NCAA Skiing Championships in 1956, 1959, 1972, and 1977. The team title went to Denver in 1956 and Colorado took the latter three.
The area is one of Colorado’s highest ski areas with a summit of 13,010 ft (3,965 m) and the second highest lift-served areas in North America at 12,697 ft (3,870 m). The ski area takes its name from adjacent Loveland Pass , which separates it from the nearby Arapahoe Basin ski area, on the west side of the Divide via U.S. Route 6 .
Breckenridge carried out a massive expansion and lift upgrade in 2002, the largest terrain expansion in Colorado that year. [1] The project also entailed the construction of two new chairlifts. The main addition was the opening of a new pod of intermediate trails on Peak 7, to the north of Claimjumper.
Aspen Mountain (often called by its former name of Ajax among locals) is a ski area in the western United States, located in Pitkin County, Colorado, just outside and above the city of Aspen. Situated on the north flank of Aspen Mountain (for which it is named), its summit elevation is 11,212 feet (3,417 m) above sea level .
