APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) is a state public technological university headquartered at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.. KTU is an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) approved university that offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in engineering, technology, and management-related streams.

The college is a member of the Technology Incubation Centre of the government of Kerala, which conducts Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and assists the students in starting their own enterprises. The college has clubs and forums for promoting student interaction which includes a quiz club and a unit of the National Service Scheme(NSS).
Government of Kerala declared the start up policy with an aim to accelerate the growth of student entrepreneurs. KSUM being the nodal agency for implementing the Startup policy have come up with various schemes for the effective implementation of the policy. The schemes cover a broad area from schools, colleges and to young entrepreneurs.
