Live in Tokyo is a 1983 live album released by Public Image Ltd as a 2-EP 45 RPM set. It was issued by Columbia Records in Japan and later reissued by Virgin Records in the UK and reached #28 on the British charts. A single-LP 33 RPM edition was later issued by Elektra Records in the US.
The Urban Music Scene noted "it doesn't get any better than this folks" with Live in Japan. [2] Mark Deming of Allmovie noted that EWF "show they still have talent and charisma to spare in this concert filmed in Japan in 1990". [3] Matt Bauer of Exclaim! also called Live in Japan "mesmerizing". [4]
Multiple video recordings of the January 24th concert of the tour have been released., [1] but the official DVD was released on January 27, 2007 by Quantum Leap Studios. [2] The concert was originally released in 1985 on a Pioneer Laser Disc by Black Box, Inc. It included the encore "Testify/Third Stone From the Sun" and was 86 minutes long.
