The ancient history of Bangladesh is a period of time, part of a series on the History of Bangladesh, dating back over multiple millennia. The region's ancient history is comprised of a sequence of different independent regional kingdoms and the various Magadha dynasties.
The battle of Haldighati was fought on 18 June 1576 [a] between the Mewar forces led by Maharana Pratap, and the Mughal forces led by Man Singh I of Amber.The Mughals emerged victorious after inflicting significant casualties on Mewari forces, though they failed to capture Pratap, who reluctantly retreated persuaded by his fellow commanders.
Since contributing forces to the First Gulf War in 1991, Bangladesh has become a major contributor in UN Peacekeeping. Bangladeshi peacekeepers have served in the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
