On the Bakerloo line and the Charing Cross branch of the Northern line, the station is between Charing Cross and Waterloo stations.
The new tube was to offer cross-platform interchange between the Bakerloo and Fleet at Baker Street, as pioneered on the Victoria line. The work was completed in 1979.
