The Lalit Kala Akademi or National Academy of Art (LKA) is India's national academy of fine arts. It is an autonomous organisation, established in New Delhi in 1954 by Government of India to promote and propagate understanding of Indian art , in and outside the country.
The All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) is an independent arts organisation in India, founded in Delhi in 1928. [1] In the decade after Indian independence, many of its functions were transferred to three national academies: Lalit Kala Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Akademi for the fields of visual arts, theatre arts and literature.

With new additions every year, A La Danse, Cynosure, Pentathlon, Purple Haze, Abhivyakti, Art Conoscenza, Halla Bol, and Swarmanzar are the few signature competitions organized at every Aarohi. Abhivyakti is a dramatic event that includes stage plays and mimes. Halla Bol usually includes a social message embedded in street plays.
Kala Bhavana was established in 1919. [1] [2] Although art historians have not been able to determine its exact date of foundation, it celebrated its centenary in 2019.[3] [4] Asit Kumar Haldar was an art teacher at Santiniketan Vidyalaya from 1911 to 1915 and was in charge of Kala Bhavana from 1919 to 1921.
