Let's Go is a series of American-English based EFL (English as a foreign language) textbooks developed by Oxford University Press and first released in 1990. While having its origins in ESL teaching in the US, and then as an early EFL resource in Japan, [1] the series is currently in general use for English-language learners in over 160 countries around the world. [2]
Over 80 million books in the series have been sold worldwide, and the books remained in print until 2012. The books were designed as materials for teaching a small child to learn to read, using a system of key phrases and words devised by teacher William Murray .

Core vocabulary (the most common 2,000-3,000 English words) needs to be heavily stressed in language teaching. There is no point in presenting exotic vocabulary until students have mastered basic, high-frequency words. Learners should be tested on high-frequency word lists for passive knowledge, active production and listening comprehension.
The book is in use by English language students, especially those from non-English-speaking countries, as a practice and reference book. Though the book was titled as a self-study reference , the publisher states that the book is also suitable for reinforcement work in the classroom.
The list is what it considers to be the 100 best non-fiction books published since 1900. The list includes memoirs, textbooks, polemics, and collections of essays.
