25,411. Location. Texas. May 27, 2014. #1. I have had a pair of Steiner 7x50 Military/Marine binoculars since about 1984. They look a little bit used, but are still crystal clear images with excellent collimation and focus. They have covered a lot of miles, and held up amazingly well. I have over the years purchased a few more Steiner glasses ...

  4. Nikon binoculars-Repair or replace? | Bushcraft USA Forums

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/nikon-binoculars-repair-or-replace.121090

Say it's $5.00. So you it cost you $5 to throw away some broken binos. No sweat. You will spend $100 to replace them. What if they replace the binos because they won't have parts and charge you say $50 which is likely then you did good. Nikon camera division treats customers very nice. Last edited: Apr 29, 2014.

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/vortex-diamondback-hd-8x28-or-8x32.346865

To be honest, you would probably need to move up in the Vortex line to see more of a difference in low light, etc., not between these two particular models. The 8x28 are very nice for the price and come with a smaller case more appropriate for their size vs the 8x32 which is more bulky. W.

  8. Frost River Summit Boulder Junction Pics - Bushcraft USA Forums

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/frost-river-summit-boulder-junction-pics.130289

Frost River makes the Summit in three models, the quality of materials and workmanship is outstanding, IMHO FR builds a better bag than Duluth and is usually a lot less expensive, I just received my third Frost River pack, my second one was a Summit, here's the but, they are a great bag if you don't over pack them, which is hard to do given their size, the carrying system is comfortable, and ...

  9. Trangia stove question | Page 2 | Bushcraft USA Forums

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/trangia-stove-question.206941/page-2

Sep 28, 2017. #37. Here are some of the documentation I did on alcohol stoves when I first got into them. Also listed is some cold weather testing attempts for cold water boiling too. The Trangia seems to function better at a 1" gap between stove and pot but also remember you fuel burns faster at this spread too.

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/british-windproof-desert-smock.263145

Nov 8, 2019. #1. Ive spent a lot time around camp/cooking fires and have accumulated quite a collection of outdoor jackets, of which most now have holes from embers/sparks. Few fleece or layer jackets have escaped unscathed. Having grown tired of this, I wanted a jacket to take the brunt of potential flying sparks.

  11. Modern Long-hunter - What would he use? - Bushcraft USA Forums

    bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/modern-long-hunter-what-would-he-use.132021

I dont think a modern day longhunter would want to accept the additional weight that comes with leather and canvas. Firestarting: A kit containing a handful of bics, several firesteels, and a magnifying glass or lens. Additionally he would have a lot of pre made tinders. He would also have a hemlock H60 on his belt.
