Vinotemp was founded in 1985 in Los Angeles, California by Francis Ravel. Ravel initially produced and sold wine before transitioning into making wine cabinets. The beverage was very sweet and came in strong fruit flavors such as Wild Raspberry, Original Citrus, and Cranberry Splash [ 4 ] that obscured the taste of its alcoholic base.
