The Lake Panasoffkee park and preserve protects 9,911 acres (40.11 km 2) and offers birdwatching, biking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, hiking and hunting. It is accessed from the south side of State Route 44 two miles (3 km) west of Interstate 75. [ 22 ]
Herb Parsons Lake is a reservoir [1] [2] lake located in Fayette County, Tennessee [3] near the town of Collierville [4] in neighboring Shelby County. The lock, dam, powerhouse and lake are operated and supervised by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' personnel under the direction of the District Engineer at Nashville. The lock allows barges and recreational boats to navigate the Cumberland River. The power plant is operated so as to use as much of the water flow as possible for power production.
Radnor Lake State Natural Area, also known as Radnor Lake State Park, is a popular state natural area and state park in Oak Hill, Tennessee within Nashville. The 1,368 acres (5.54 km 2) nature preserve lies just outside Nashville. Five miles of unpaved trails wander through the woods surrounding the lake.
The lake is formed by the damming of the Obey River, 7.3 miles (11.7 km) above its juncture with the Cumberland River at river mile 380. Portions of the lake also cover the Wolf River .
