Marisol Suarez originally goes undercover as a Beverly Hills maid in order to personally investigate the murder of Flora Hernandez. Her son, Eddie, has been arrested for the crime, despite allegedly being innocent, and so over the course of six months she works to befriend fellow maids - Rosie Falta, Carmen Luna, and Zoila Diaz - and find out everything they know about Flora.
The series was created by Marc Cherry, and is loosely based on Mexican TV series Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar. Ana Ortiz , Dania Ramirez , Roselyn Sánchez , Judy Reyes , and Edy Ganem star as five Latina maids working in the homes of Beverly Hills’ wealthiest and most powerful families.
This season, Marisol finds herself acting as a support system to Evelyn (Rebecca Wisocky) in the wake of a big life change. Meanwhile, Rosie's positive and sunny disposition leaves much to be desired by her new boss, Genevieve (Susan Lucci) who is acclimating to a household without Zoila's honest and acerbic humor.
Zoila couldn't sleep after overhearing Dr. Neff saying "Ooh-la-la" while having sex with Genevieve. Genevieve tells Zoila that she also hates the "Ooh-la-la". Zoila discussed this with Dr. Neff and he accused Genevieve of being co-dependent with Zoila and cares more about her than she cares more about him.
