The Links is an American, invitation-only, social and service organization of prominent black women in the United States. Founded in 1946, it is the largest nationwide organization of prominent black women in the United States. Members include Kamala Harris [citation needed], Marian Wright Edelman, and the late Betty Shabazz.
Formed 1965. Abolished 1970. Components merged with those of other agencies to form the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Farmers Home Administration Replaced in 1994 with the Farm Service Agency. Farm Security Administration (FSA) Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA or Fannie Mae)

The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946, is an invitation-only social service organization for women that requires each member to accumulate many volunteer hours. It is known for numerous annual social activities, including debutante cotillions , fashion show luncheons, auctions, and balls. [ 17 ]
