Mike Pinera (September 29, 1948 – November 20, 2024) was an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer who started professionally in the late 1960s with the group Blues Image, which had a number 4 hit in 1970 with their song "Ride Captain Ride".
Pinera released several solo albums, including In the Garden of Eden. Kent Henry died on March 18, 2009, at the age of 60. [3] Joe Lala died of complications from lung cancer on March 18, 2014, at the age of 66. [4] Mike Pinera died of liver failure on November 20, 2024, at the age of 76. [5]

Ramatam was a 1970s rock band featuring Mike Pinera on guitar and vocals, April Lawton on lead guitar, and Mitch Mitchell on drums. Ramatam was notable for having Lawton, a female lead guitarist. Tom Dowd produced their self-titled debut album in 1972. Pinera was known for his work with Blues Image ("Ride Captain Ride") and Iron Butterfly.

Mike Pinera, formerly of Blues Image and Iron Butterfly, came in on guitar, along with Roland Robinson on bass and Jerry Norris on drums. [2] The band then toured live in the Midwest and on the East Coast in mid 1973 with Captain Beyond drummer Bobby Caldwell and former Gregg Allman bass player Charlie Souza. The New Cactus Band soon disbanded. [2]

Doug Ingle and Mike Pinera died on May 24 and November 20, 2024 respectively being the last surviving members of the album. The album was recorded at American Recording studio and produced by Richard Podolor, engineered by Bill Cooper.
