The Museum of Contemporary Art is an art museum in Bangkok, Thailand.It is privately owned by business executive Boonchai Bencharongkul, and was opened in 2012.The museum, one of the largest contemporary art museums in Asia, features an extensive collection of works by many famous Thai artists, including Thawan Duchanee, Hem Vejakorn, Chalermchai Kositpipat and Prateep Kochabua.
The gallery was established in 2003 after a request by Queen Sirikit of Thailand. [1] She named the exhibition center "The Queen Sirikit Arts Exhibition Center" in Thai, and "The Queen's Gallery" in English. The Queen's Gallery Foundation was established on 6 May 2003, and the queen presided at the official opening on 9 August 2003.
Art, music, theatre, film, design and cultural/educational events take place in its exhibition and performance spaces. The centre includes cafes, commercial art galleries, bookshops, craft shops, and an art library.
