In June 2017, San Diego–based brewery Ballast Point opened their East Coast facility and Tap Room in the Botetourt Center at Greenfield. Beer production began in September 2017, with the first keg of the company's well-known Grapefruit Sculpin beer being sent to the office of then Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in Richmond .
The tap room will officially open Aug. 23. At first, it will be open three days a week: from 5 to 10 p.m. on Fridays, from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

The Colony House Motor Lodge was developed by Glover and Richard Trent, a pair of brothers who were businessmen in Roanoke during the mid-20th century.
