But I just figured something out, I set up another test with 10 second interval, every 5th change is the 2nd monitor. I had had it set to 12 hours, so I wasn't noticing the 2nd monitor changing every 3 days.
I have the settings dialog open with the settings for having the day of the week, date, and year. You just have to modify the "short date", that will leave the "long date" alone, which is what you see when you hover over the top in the taskbar. If you look in the lower right corner you can see the end result.
and with a darkish desktop background, i think i did pretty well, I will try to post a picture up here so you can see what im talkng about, but im not sure if it will work so anyway, i locked out of the computer, and took a look at the lock screen and it is this horrid looking dark blue purplish background, almost made me puke.

Hi TDas and welcome to Eight Forums, Yes it is possible to customize it all you need to is to right click your taskbar at the desktop then click propreieties then go to "Navigation" tab then check "Show my desktop background on start" Like this: Now your Desktop background is applied in start and your log-in screen.
