Bel Canto Trio. The Bel Canto Trio, consisting of tenor Mario Lanza, soprano Frances Yeend and bass-baritone George London, was created by Columbia Artists Management in 1947. The Bel Canto Trio performed 86 concerts throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico between July 1947 and May 1948.
Bel Canto was one of the first Norwegian bands to sign a record contract abroad. The trio moved to Brussels in 1986 and had their debut album White-Out Conditions released by Crammed Discs the following year. After a second album, Birds of Passage (1990), Jenssen left the band for a solo career as Biosphere.
Biography. Nikos Gounaris. Gounaris began playing the mandolin at the age of four. He attended the musical Conservatory of Music in Athens. Gounaris was a Greek elafró singer and among the foremost Greek composers and musicians of the 1950s and 1960s. He was especially popular in the Greek community in America.
