Pearland Stadium (nicknamed The Rig when Pearland is home and The Nest when Dawson is home) is an American multi-use stadium in Pearland, Texas (near Houston).The 12,000-capacity stadium is on the campus of Pearland High School and serves as home to the school's football, soccer, and track and field teams.
SNGC, which served the ninth graders zoned to Pearland High School, was located in the north campus of the High School, and was part of the Pearland Independent School District. Sheryl Searcy, who taught English at PHS, died in 2006 after almost two decades with the district. SNGC's mascot was the oiler rig, sharing it with Pearland High School.
Mr. Robert Turner was the Pearland Independent School District Superintendent from 1968 - 1978. In February 2007, the school board voted to name the next high school campus Robert Turner High School.
